The Perfect Bouquet

The Perfect Bouquet

One of the most joyful parts of hosting guests in the flower patch is watching how each person connects with the flowers in their own way. Guests stroll the maze of blooms, learning about each variety and often falling in love with them through my own love. Then, armed with a pail and snips, they carefully choose the stems that speak to them.

When it comes time to arrange, something magical happens. Though everyone begins with the same garden, no two bouquets are ever alike. Each creation reflects its maker—shaped by their eye for color, texture, and balance. While I provide a “recipe” for the arrangements, this is where individuality shines. Some follow the steps to a tee, while others let their own creativity lead the way. When the bouquets are complete, we often gather them together for a “group photo.” We never need to worry about mixing them up—without hesitation, everyone intimately knows their own. Each flower selected and thoughtfully placed with intention.  Each one so different, yet all so beautiful!  It’s a reminder that beauty comes in countless forms and is deeply personal.

While I love ALL flowers, pre-made bouquets can’t quite replicate the joy and pride one gets from this creation experience. The bouquets reflect the stories they will tell: of where they were grown, the people they were shared with, and the joy of crafting something uniquely your own. The result is more than just flowers—it’s a piece of art, a reflection of self, and a memory of a lovely summer evening in the flower patch.
