You may draw the finest partner in the field. You may draw someone whose principal contribution is maintaining morale. Fate will decide the pairing; team chemistry will remain very much your problem.\u003cbr\u003eNo trades. No appeals. No discreetly putting your name back in the hat.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Two Cups\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe green will have two cups.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBoth cups are live at all times. Your team never needs to declare a target, select a cup, or explain afterward which one you were supposedly aiming for.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIf the ball goes into either cup, it is holed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Field\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe field may include as many as 24 players, creating 12 randomly drawn teams.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePlayers must carry a handicap index of 18.0 or lower to participate. The competition itself will be played at scratch.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFour teams—eight players in two groups—will play the course at a time. The first wave begins at 10:00 a.m. Each subsequent wave will begin after the preceding wave has completed its nine holes.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eQualifying\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAll teams will play nine holes of two-person scramble golf.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eAt the conclusion of qualifying, the four lowest-scoring teams will advance to the shootout. Any tie affecting the final qualifying positions will be decided by a chip-off.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Shootout\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe four qualifying teams will play together.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOn the first shootout hole, the team with the worst score will be eliminated and finish fourth.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOn the next hole, the team with the worst score will be eliminated and finish third.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eA tie for elimination will be settled immediately by chip-off.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe two surviving teams will then play sudden-death holes until one team wins.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Purse\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe accepted-entry contribution is $100 per player.\u003cbr\u003eOf that amount, $60 per player will enter the purse:\u003cbr\u003e    •    Champion: 45%\u003cbr\u003e    •    Runner-up: 35%\u003cbr\u003e    •    Third place: 20%\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Morning\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePractice and Fieldnotes open at 9:00 a.m.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Bloody Mary bar will also be available, offering competitors an early opportunity to improve their confidence without making any corresponding improvement to their swing.\u003cbr\u003eThe first wave begins at 10:00 a.m.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cbr\u003eApplications\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Double Cup Draw is a private gathering for the hosts’ accepted guests. Century Oaks is not open for public play.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eSubmitting an application does not reserve a tee time, purchase access to the course, or guarantee entry into the field.
