An Invitation to Compete

Applications are now being accepted for a gathering of friends, familiar faces, and people whose judgment we are prepared to trust for at least nine holes.

The field will be limited to no more than 24 players. Applying does not guarantee a place. Prior participation at Century Oaks events will be viewed favorably.

Accepted players will receive confirmation by email.

The Draw
This is a two-person scramble, but you will not select your partner.

Names will be drawn from a hat immediately before play. You may draw the finest partner in the field. You may draw someone whose principal contribution is maintaining morale. Fate will decide the pairing; team chemistry will remain very much your problem.
No trades. No appeals. No discreetly putting your name back in the hat.

The Two Cups
The green will have two cups.

Both cups are live at all times. Your team never needs to declare a target, select a cup, or explain afterward which one you were supposedly aiming for.

If the ball goes into either cup, it is holed.

The Field
The field may include as many as 24 players, creating 12 randomly drawn teams.

Players must carry a handicap index of 18.0 or lower to participate. The competition itself will be played at scratch.

Four teams—eight players in two groups—will play the course at a time. The first wave begins at 10:00 a.m. Each subsequent wave will begin after the preceding wave has completed its nine holes.

Qualifying
All teams will play nine holes of two-person scramble golf.

At the conclusion of qualifying, the four lowest-scoring teams will advance to the shootout. Any tie affecting the final qualifying positions will be decided by a chip-off.

The Shootout
The four qualifying teams will play together.

On the first shootout hole, the team with the worst score will be eliminated and finish fourth.

On the next hole, the team with the worst score will be eliminated and finish third.

A tie for elimination will be settled immediately by chip-off.

The two surviving teams will then play sudden-death holes until one team wins.

The Purse
The accepted-entry contribution is $100 per player.
Of that amount, $60 per player will enter the purse:
    •    Champion: 45%
    •    Runner-up: 35%
    •    Third place: 20%

The Morning
Practice and Fieldnotes open at 9:00 a.m.

The Bloody Mary bar will also be available, offering competitors an early opportunity to improve their confidence without making any corresponding improvement to their swing.
The first wave begins at 10:00 a.m.

Applications
The Double Cup Draw is a private gathering for the hosts’ accepted guests. Century Oaks is not open for public play.

Submitting an application does not reserve a tee time, purchase access to the course, or guarantee entry into the field. Hosts will consider applications, with priority given to players who have participated in previous Century Oaks events.

If accepted, you will receive an email confirming your place in the field and providing the final event details.
